Building buzz for a growing business: The Venues at Langtree featured in the Charlotte Business Journal as they host fundraisers, corporate events, business meetings and more

With a splashy slideshow running across the top of the page and a full-length article below, the Venues at Langtree are celebrating a prominently featured article in the February 24th edition of the Charlotte Business Journal.

The headline of the article tells readers the Venues are poised for growth and expansion.

Senior Staff Writer Jennifer Thomas and a staff photographer spent several hours on the property last week to help tell the story of growth at the longtime property that now has a new lease on life. As Thomas writes: Chris Boukedes and Chris McKee purchased The Venues at Langtree and an adjacent, 9-acre property for $4 million in April 2021 and planned future expansions will allow for larger-scale ticketed events on the property, including concerts, festivals and collaborations with chefs, distilleries and wineries.

In the article Boukedes is quoted as saying, “It was just a natural progression for us. It makes sense from the business aspect of it. The Venues is a great property in a growing market.”

In her piece, Thomas writes that the property sits in close proximity to the Langtree Lake Norman lifestyle center and there are multiple hotels and businesses nearby, along with a growing residential community.

Thomas has written about The Venues at Langtree co-owner Chris Boukedes before because of his other endeavors in the Mooresville area. Boukedes also owns On the Nines, Boat Yard Lake Norman and Bouk Catering – which is now also the official caterer on site at the Venues.

Also in the article, Thomas points out the 16-acre property currently has 26,000 square foot of event space with five distinct settings that are perfect for hosting everything from weddings and fundraisers to business meetings, corporate retreats and catered dinners for groups of 10 people up to 400.

Thomas detailed the different venues for readers, writing: There’s the historic Mott House, which was built in the 1820s. That venue provides opportunities for small weddings, cocktail parties or intimate chef-driven dinners. Upstairs, the space has been refreshed to accommodate bridal parties getting ready for the ceremony.

The 10,000-square-foot Pavilion fits groups of up to 400 people. Future plans call for an indoor/outdoor expansion that would increase capacity up to 1,000.

The property is also home to a 3,000-square-foot barn for events with up to 250 people, while the Boulder Room — named for its unique boulder walls — offers a mix of indoor and outdoor space.

Those looking to host an outdoor event can utilize The Pergola, with green space for 400.

A second outdoor venue, called The Oak, will be added this year and feature a half-acre of green space in the shadow of a 200-year-old oak tree that survived a lightning strike.
