Our History
After the new owners took over the property in April 2021, we began to research its history dating back to the late 1700s when the land was settled. We felt that it was important to share the true history and created a separate entity to continue the research that was started and acknowledge all persons, the owners and the enslaved, in a meaningful way. We call this the Dinah Project, which will be run under the leadership of Lucretia Berry, founder of Brownicity.
“Beautiful venue for a wedding. A friend had the ceremony outside of the house, cocktail hour in one of the smaller rooms and the reception in a bigger hall. The staff was very efficient at cleaning up during the cocktail hour and reception. Parking was in a gravel lot, and the whole venue was very walkable. They had a fire pit outside and the view of the pasture behind the reception space was beautiful.”
