Epic B’Nai Mitzvah Celebration for SD3
The Venues was thrilled and honored to host a once in a lifetime event for not one, not two, but three thirteen-year olds for their B’Nai Mitzvah. Most have heard of a Bar or Bat Mitzvah in Jewish culture, which celebrates the journey to adulthood upon turning thirteen. A Bar Mitzvah celebrates young men, while a Bat Mitzvah celebrates young women. A B’Nai Mitzvah is a plural form of Bar and Bat Mitzvah, which celebrates multiple individuals and different genders.
The St. Denis triplets, Drew, Julia and Madison, lovingly nicknamed SD3 by their family, celebrated with a carnival themed Mitzvah! Parents, Shara and Mike, had been dreaming of their triplets’ Mitzvah since the “SD3” were babies, and had planned to host it in their hometown of Philadelphia. When they were relocated to Davidson, North Carolina, they were concerned about finding the perfect venue and vendors without their network of friends and family available to help.
After hearing about the Venues and receiving a tour, they quickly realized that it would be the perfect venue for their unique celebration! With so many family and friends attending from out of town, it was important to provide convenience along with a fabulous party. The party guests stayed at the hotels close to the Venues, and the Langtree Trolley made numerous trips back and forth to pick up guests.
“We didn’t want a traditional, ballroom Mitzvah. We wanted to have space and for it to have an outdoorsy aesthetic,” says Shara. “We loved that we had the entire property all to ourselves!”
The St. Denis family used the barn for the service, had activities in the Boulder Room and used the beautiful grounds for carnival games, miniature golf, a big slide and a VW bug for photos. The dinner and dancing were held in the Pavilion.
Shara loved that the Pavilion was a blank canvas and they could make it their own. The Pavilion, transformed with festive red and white Carnival themed décor, included a fabulous cake from Cake Expressions by Lisa, a donut bar, Shirley Temples and rocking dance floor!
“We could not have done this without Lisa Dowless at The Venues, who provided the best vendor recommendations and answered all of our questions! “She connected us with Candace from Stars Hollows Events who was so patient and helped me with decision making,” Shara said.
The St. Denis family is so thankful to have partnered with The Venues at Langtree for this truly special occasion, and loved the freedom and flexibility of the various venues on the property to host an amazing celebration they dreamed about for years.
Shara says, “We loved that we were able to make it our own, and make it reflective of us!”
