“Fresh State Of Mind” Retreat Facilitator says Team Members will be Re-energized after an Offsite Gathering at the Right Venue

Corporate retreats are the perfect way for team members to get a break from the daily grind and come together to relax, recharge, and brainstorm.

Rosie Molinary is an Author, Speaker, and Retreat Facilitator based in Davidson, North Carolina. She works with high level executives, non-profit leaders and their teams and says choosing the right setting for your retreat can make or break its success.

What kind of corporate retreats do you do?

I lead workshops and retreats that focus on well-being, self-acceptance, self-awareness, self-care and burnout prevention.

Why is it helpful to get a team out of the office?

A change of location helps participants approach activities with a fresh state of mind. In locations that are familiar to us, we likely have a pattern to how we do or approach things. This can be a really good thing for productivity and efficiency but when we are dealing with generating novel ideas or creating new patterns, a new environment can help us to get out of our boxes and be more open to new ideas and possibilities.

How can a corporate retreat help foster relationships? Team building? And how does that help in the workplace?

A fresh environment for a team retreat allows us to see our colleagues in a new way and allows people to showcase skills and talents or share new sides of themselves that might be harder to see in a traditional environment where the team has fallen into specific patterns or behaviors.  This kind of novelty invites new depth and understanding.

The Venues at Langtree offers many settings to transition successfully at off-site retreats.

What makes a good setting for a retreat?

A great retreat environment seamlessly integrates the amenities that you need while providing inspiration.  The space is flexible and comfortable and makes the day feel different from being at the office.

What amenities are nice to have at a venue?

First and foremost, you want the space to be comfortable.  Having ample space for people to move around is really important.  Windows, white boards or flip charts, and a place for snacks throughout the day all add vital touches to the experience.

The Venues at Langtree in Mooresville, North Carolina is home to more than 26,000 square feet and five different venue spaces that can accommodate gatherings like large weddings, private parties, corporate retreats and intimate gatherings with both indoor and outdoor options. One of the premiere event facilities in the Charlotte, North Carolina area, the Venues will also offer an additional half acre of outdoor space.
